Robin Zielhorst was born in Breda, The Netherlands on August 13th of 1982. After graduating the Rock Academy in 2004, Robin did studio-jobs, gigs and recordings with his bands, and joins new projects. He is well known for his incredible bass playing in the following bands: Exivious, Cynic, ONEGODLESS and Our Oceans.
Robin’s Futura
His custom Roks Instruments Futura features a body of European walnut with a bookmatched flamed American walnut top. This choice of wood emphasizes the midrange frequencies and creates a very expressive and profound fretless sound. The instrument has an ebony fingerboard, passive electronics and an oil finish for a natural sound and look. A feature specially made for Robin’s bass is a handmade engraving of a weeping Buddha on the electronics cover.
